Travel Purpose: leisure
Positive: Located inside an all inclusive resort, you get to use the pools and the shared spaces. Several pools with salty and fresh water, grounds clean and well maintained. However, you have to enter/exit through the employee's entrance and you need to pay for all restaurants on site (which makes sense). This feels a bit strange as everybody else has a bracelet and they get everything included everywhere. During my stay, I didn't see anyone else without a bracelet. I am not even sure how the employees would have reacted to an ''outsider'' so I opted out to eat at restaurants outside the resort. Great local food on the small ''central'' street of Dominicus. I have to say that the all inclusive food that people were eating did not seem appealing to me. Population in the resort was mixed, with many Argentinians, Caribbeans, and to a lesser extent Americans and Europeans. The room was spacious and comfortable and it had everything you may need for a nice stay.
Negative: The bathroom although spacious, seemed outdated. It was very difficult to open/close the bathroom window as the handle is broken. Being on the ground floor and next to the path, you are constantly disturbed by employees carrying trolleys around. On top of that, there is a renovation in the apartment next door, so the noise started early in the morning. You also hear tenants yelling and speaking loudly in front of the door on and off during the day. The room does not seem to have a good sound proofing and the specific building seems to be inhabited by locals and not tourists. The hotel has no beach. The public beach of Dominicus is 15min walk, which can be a bit annoying in the hot sun. Although beautiful, the Dominicus beach is mostly taken over by the big resorts. You either have to elbow your way with the locals under the paid umbrellas on a small patch of land or walk past the resorts to the rocky side (it can be a bit dangerous getting in or out of the water).
Summary: Nice apartment in a beautiful resort, but mind the noise.
